About The Author
I am Sarah Alicia Lindquist the author of BioMech and many more stories to come over time.
There are many things I can say about myself and that I have accomplished:
I am a trained and published journalist, photojournalist, political cartoonist and professional photographer residing in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
I served in all leadership roles on my college newspaper The Buccaneer including Managing Editor during my two years on it.
I will graduate with my AA-T June 2015 and freelance writing, photography and fine art currently.
I plan on pursuing film making and other forms of visual story telling, primarily in script writing for graphic novels/American manga, screen and teleplays.
I have been published nationally and have won thirteen awards in the past two years for my photography, political cartoons and fine art.
My paintings and photography have been exhibited six times in galleries as well and hopefully another two this winter.
I also volunteer helping my local school district's broadcast media program as a member of their advisory board and work at my church as needed.
I wrote and published BioMech and all the content related to it other than the cover simply because I loved the artist's, Cynthia Her, work and it was a perfect fit for my story.
But the surprising thing about everything that I've done is that I have done this even though I am mentally disabled.
So my greatest hope is that through my current success and hopefully future success I can help fight the stereotypes and stigma wrongfully given to all those with all mental and emotional disabilities, disorders, illnesses, handicaps, challenged, whichever word the media is using these days.
So to me, to help change all the words, blogs, movies, shows, reports, books, everything and anything that would perpetuate the current societal norms of those like me, I say "Challenge Accepted."
